Eileen got married two years ago. Eileen lost her virginity on her wedding night. It was then she discovered something was wrong; sex was not pleasurable but instead was painful. Although she thinks she may have congenital pain (pain since birth), she also has been suffering from back pain for the past five years and thinks there may be some nerve damage exacerbating both types of pain.
New to understanding her pain, Eileen hasn't found a doctor to help her navigate through the trial-and-error process so many other women with vulvodynia are going through. As such, she hasn't tried very many treatments yet other than taking amitriptyline with some relief but no cure. To help close the gap, she uses lidocaine to numb her vagina prior to intercourse so that she can be intimate with her husband.
